The Career Management Centre started summer training courses in Damascus University students
 The Career Management Centre has started the summer training courses for Damascus University students. The 1st session was conducted on the 9th of August and focused on “Job search, CV writing and interview skills”. More than 200 University students attended the session which took place at Al-Bassel Auditorium, Faculty of Civil Engineering. Most of the attendees confirmed that the session was vital for their employability.

Empowering Syrian Women
 The “Poverty Alleviation and Women Empowerment” programme, implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in cooperation with the MoSAL, endeavors to reduce internal migration and population concentration in major cities by creating employment and business opportunities in the remote regions of the country. The programme provides Syrian women access to microfinance services to break the vicious cycle of poverty and gender inequality.

Treating Tuberculosis, One of the World’s Oldest Pandemics
 Two billion people world wide have been infected with tuberculosis (TB) although most of those individuals never develop symptoms. While only five to ten percent of individuals have been exposed to TB in the Western world, it is much more prevalent and much more deadly in the developing world. As noted by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon on World TB Day this year, “TB still takes a life every 20 seconds”.
